Posting by 2012, Wednesday, December 09, 2009, 12:51:

copied from KWCG yahoo sharing. (it's long).

introduction about community outreach program@ Victoria Hill Community Center
Hello, I am the new outreach worker Sarah Chen. Before, I posted some H1N1 information. That is my part time job. I am still doing the job right now.
Recently, I found a new job, it is called Community Outreach worker
My office is in Victorial Hill Community Center. 10 Chopin Drive Kitchener N2N 2G2.
Due to the new start, I still have some available resources (including money) to support families who have at least one child is younger than 17 years old, whose income is in low income status. How to know if you are in low income? there is a standard for worker to know if you are in low income family. Say, one family, one father and one mother, one child, the number for the family will be 3 people total, if only father works @ $12/hr full time, you are absolutely in low income, that is called low income working family
if the wife is pregnant, the coming baby will be counted one child, so there are 4 people
the other situations will be a lot. some people, they are new immigrants, and there is no working income, I just count the money from child tax benefit. it is very limited, you are low income.
the support are: provide some bus tickets for you go to some appointments, e.g. medical appointment, or counselling appointment etc. if you have no car
moving? if you have car, i can support some gas fee
support your child or children to go to community program, we have cost sharing, say, the dance program is $33, i can pay 10-30 dollars, and you pay the rest of them23-3dollars, depends on your income,
support basic food if you cannot get from food bank due to the number of the year (one family can only get 6 times from food bank hamper). I will give you some food vouchers
support you to know the resources, inforamtion, EI, social support, housing, lawyer, legal support, in region of waterloo, you name it. that is the huge part of the program
support you about education, say, you have plan to register university or college, but you have no money to pay the registration fee, I can support some of it,
help you to buy used or new car seat, stroller, crib, or infant or children's staff, diaper, clothing, shoes, socks, coat, etc.
say you want to take PSW training, I can support you to pay some money
you know what, if you do not know, just email me what I can support
there are 25 workers in our region, I am only support the peopple who live closed to Victorial Hill Community Center, there is a map, you can this number to know what worker and what area you belong to, 519 883 2290.it is a machine, you leave message: like this, My name is ---my phone number is---, repeat the number again, coz sometimes, we can not hear clearly the number, my address is -----kitchener or waterloo? details, could you tell me what community center that I should go to and the worker's name? then a worker will callyou back and tell you the worker's name, the name of the office or the community
then you call the worker and make an appointment, by assessment, they will tell you if you are eligible for this program,
this program is not an emergency program of food and clothing, they focus on information sharing
if you have any question, you can email me, I will help you to find the right person to help you.
