Contract Position - Lab Test Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Set-up lab equipment and conduct testing as directed by supervisor.
· Ensure calibration of lab tools and equipment to comply with certification.
· Conduct all type of tests on the new PV/PDV/DV during the development stage (performance, safety and efficiency tests).
· Conduct qualification/quality/reliability tests on new components which will be used on the new PV/PDV/DV platforms per reliability engineer.
· Maintain records for SR & ED claims as needed including personal timesheets.
· Write reports and communicate formally as necessary.
· Strong knowledge in report writing, administration and to follow guideline set by CSA/ UL standards
· Conduct audit testing on new prototype heaters as per product engineers/designers requests.
· Support customer service in return investigation and service calls as needed.
· Strong knowledge of gas appliance and combustion testing
· General knowledge of ISO requirements and documentation
· Comfortable to conduct physical work, installing pipes, setting up water heater.
· Strong communication skills
· Team player and also have the ability to work as an individual
· Highly motivated, self sufficient, hardworking individual

Qualifications for the Job:
· Minimum of electrical, controls or mechanical engineering technician diploma.
· Minimum 5 years experience as a lab technician or related experience on a lab environment.
· Experience in an ISO9000 or QS9000 environment.
· Experience with CSA certification process.
· Demonstrated knowledge of lab test procedures.
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
· Prefer experience in appliances, fabricated steel products and / or sheet metal production.
· Computer literate.
· Preferred experience with Lab View software.
